Mag. Dr. Brigitte Holzinger was born in Vienna, studied psychology in Vienna and California (Stanford), is a psychotherapist for integrative Gestalt therapy, supervisor, clinical and health psychologist. She is the founding director of the Institute for Consciousness and Dream Research and founding member of ASRA (Austrian Sleep Research Association). Together with her colleague Gerhard Klösch she has created “Sleep Coaching® ” – a non pharmaceutical approach for treating sleep disorders. She is the scientific director of the postgraduate course “Sleep Coaching” at the Medical University Vienna. After publishing several books available in German and for some also in English, she continues sharing her knowledge in articles published on many different platforms and printed magazines. She chose to join Medium in the difficult times of a pandemic, when knowledge about healthy sleep and overcoming nightmares has become increasingly important.
